Sow outdoors in very early spring. Carrots prefer a loose soil amended with plenty of organic matter. Make a shallow trench about 1/4" deep. Place seed tape in trench and cover firmly with soil. Keep soil evenly moist for best growth.
Carefully loosed soil with a garden fork before harvesting. For best flavor, harvest when carrots are 6"-7" long. Cut back green tops to 1/2"-1" and shake off any soil before storing.
