This attractive basil has a sweet, spicy flavor with a hint of anise. Widely used in Thai and Vietnamese cuisines. Perfect for containers. Easy to grow and highly ornamental. It won an All America Selections award in 1997.

Plant in a warm, sunny location with rich, moist soil in late spring. Basil loves heat and does not begin vigorous growth until night and day temperatures have warmed. Start indoors four weeks before last spring frost date.
Cut individual stems as needed. Pinch back flower stalk to improve production. May be dried or frozen for later use.
